BETH NARDI, LCPC
EXPERIENCE
I have experience working with both adults and adolescents facing a wide range of psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, relationship difficulties, life adjustments, stress, grief and dual diagnoses. I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and have had the opportunity to work in diverse settings, such as the prison system and private practice. This broad range of experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health and a compassionate, client-centered approach to therapy.
CURRENT TREATMENT FOCUS
The stories we tell ourselves matter. Often, the way we interpret events is more important than the events themselves. Our perceptions shape how we think, feel, and move through life. By examining and reshaping our internal narratives, we can forge new ways to see the world, and ourselves, that lead to more satisfying lives. In a society that increasingly encourages us to look outside of ourselves to remedy our inner issues, I believe that we all possess the innate strength and resilience to find answers within. In my practice, I work with individuals facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. I help clients manage stress, build resilience, and navigate complex emotions. I prioritize creating a collaborative, non-judgmental space where clients feel empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. My approach also emphasizes fostering self-awareness and teaching practical coping strategies to help clients achieve emotional balance and overall well-being.
TREATMENT APPROACH AND MODALITIES
I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from Johns Hopkins University, where I completed advanced coursework in Eastern approaches to mental health. My extensive travels, during which I observed mindfulness as a way of life in various cultures, have deeply influenced my therapeutic practice. I am committed to creating a supportive and positive therapeutic environment that promotes wellness and helps you reach your fullest potential. My approach is integrative, drawing from a range of clinical and theoretical modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Psychodynamic Therapy, with mindfulness practices and a strengths-based perspective. By tailoring treatment to each individual’s unique needs, I aim to inspire lasting positive change and personal growth. My goal is to help you develop the tools and insights needed to navigate life’s challenges and move toward greater fulfillment.
OUTSIDE OF SESSION
I’m passionate about reading, learning, and staying active - especially through outdoor exercise and skiing. I also love traveling and going on adventures with my family, which includes our surprisingly spry 14-year-old dog. I believe in the power of humor and often incorporate it into my practice, as laughter can be a powerful tool for healing. Life can be hard – I always make room for joy when it appears!
