CHRIS FARIA, LCPC

EXPERIENCE

I worked in community mental health at my externship during graduate school, mostly doing office-based therapy but also doing some community work in mobile outreach. Once I was fully licensed, I started work at a residential treatment center working with adolescent males who were placed through DJS/DSS for long-term care. For the past several years, I have been working full-time as a psychotherapist on an inpatient adult behavioral health unit working with individuals from multiple walks of life and with diverse mental health difficulties.

CURRENT TREATMENT FOCUS

My current focus is on working with adults who are having difficulty with living their best lives. Whether it be depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, OCD, or PTSD, I am available to offer my expertise and feedback to help you identify your treatment goals.

TREATMENT APPROACH AND MODALITIES

We all have different stressors and barriers to obtaining peace and happiness, and my hope is to be able to use an eclectic approach to help clients identify their goals for treatment and redefine what success looks like for them. If you need help with understanding your mental health and how it developed over time, I can utilize narrative-based strategies to assist a client with understanding their course of development over time. If you just need some outsider perspective to identify healthy coping skills to combat negative thought processes, we could utilize cognitive-behavioral techniques to challenge problematic thinking and instill better habits.

OUTSIDE OF SESSION

In my free time I enjoy cooking for my family (mostly on the grill), watching good movies, and playing games with family and friends.
