HALEY BANDIER, LMSW

EXPERIENCE

I received my Masters in Social Work in 2014 from University of Maryland Baltimore, where during my internship at the Children's Guild, I worked in their Academy program and provided individual therapy to my students. After graduating with my Masters, I transitioned into working as a clinical social worker assisting adults in case management and discharge planning needs at GBMC Hospital. Once I left GBMC, I began working for BHS, an employee assistance program, in their crisis call center where I supported clients offering emotional and crisis in the moment support. Eventually I transitioned into working as a Staff Counselor with BHS and provided individual counseling using evidence-based practices, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I worked with clients offering solution-focused problem-solving sessions, and referrals to long term treatment and community services. I spent the last year working as a Chat and Text Counselor, offering crisis intervention counseling to my clients and have segued into working as a private practice psychotherapist.

CURRENT TREATMENT FOCUS

Currently I work with clients ages thirteen years and older. I see adults of all ages helping them navigate through grief, work stressors, medical issues, life transitions, and relationship issues. Areas of focus include anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, addiction, life transitions, work stress and academic stress. Welcoming anyone who is open to healing, learning and growing on this journey.

TREATMENT AND APPROACH MODALITIES

I use a strengths-based approach, with a client centered perspective. My experience focuses on evidence-based treatment such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, working with clients to help change thought patterns. I encourage client's to focus on their thoughts, feelings and action, while helping them navigate thought patterns. I practice a Motivational Interviewing, to motivate and provide clients with a safe space. I also use a mindfulness approach, to help with emotional regulation, remaining calm and present to help clients reach their goals.

OUTSIDE OF SESSION

In my spare time I enjoy going to Pilates, reading, chasing sunrises and sunsets, traveling and trying new restaurants. Otherwise I’m spending time with my family, friends and my Maltipoo, Teddy.
